DC Advisory Partners advised capiton on the sale of its portfolio company METRAWATT to M Cap Finance and Management. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Since its foundation over 100 years ago, the METRAWATT Group has been one of the market leaders for electrical test and measurement devices for professional users. With its extensive product portfolio METRAWATT operates globally and continuously sets the industry standard in terms of product quality and safety.
In 2005, capiton, together with the Company’s CEO, acquired stakes in METRAWATT. Hand in hand with management and based on the broad product portfolio as well as the high local presence, they successfully continued the internationalization of the Company with e.g. an acquisition in the USA and the market entry into China. Simultaneously, the entire product range was modernized and rebuilt in order to allow the Company to enter new growth segments such as renewable energy, smart grid and e-mobility. In the last financial year, METRAWATT generated revenues of around EUR 80m while employing approx. 500 staff worldwide.
DC Advisory Partners managed a focused competitive sale process involving a selected number of strategic and private equity investors which was successfully completed with the sale to M Cap Finance and Management. Together they intend to further continue the internationalization of METRAWATT.
